Order Book Profile Update
New week, new features on MMT to sink your teeth into. Brand new Order Book Profile layer, new reference headers for TPO, VPSV & Footprints, improved TPO's Volume Profile configuration options, and DOM Column re-arrangement. π
π Order Book Profile
Within the Market Monkey Terminal, there are a range of methods to assess liquidity conditions. Tools such as the Heatmap and Order Book Imbalances enable you to examine how these dynamics within the order book have changed over time from an historical perspective. These tools are also updated in real-time to reflect changes liquidity. However, those seeking to isolate live data need to dedicate a portion of the terminal to the Order Book widget.
Whilst the respective widget is inherently useful, today's update brings the ability to overlay the full order book, directly on your chart. This granular view when combined with the range of order flow tools available on the Market Monkey Terminal, provide real-time assessment of limit order dynamics, without losing perspective of the other elements of your chart.
Each row within the Order Book Profile automatically adjusts to reflect the cumulative limit order quantity at each price level. Visually, the wider the row, the larger the value of liquidity that is currently present.
Crucially these rows are also dynamically scaled to reflect the price range of your chart. As you increase or decrease the price range that is within view, each row will be scaled against one another allowing you to very quickly compare how liquidity is currently distributed.
π Key Reference Headers
Getting a read on the market is one thing, doing it at speed is an entirely other matter. Having quick access to key data points ensures precious time isn't wasted when volatility spikes. Today's update ensures these key metrics such as Point of Controls, Value Area High & Lows, in addition to total / delta volume, are clearly shown for quick reference.
TPO / Market Profile Headers

β TPO: No Headers vs TPO: Headers β
POC - Point of Control VAH - Value Area High VAL - Value Area Low
VPSV Headers

β VPSV: No Headers vs VPSV: Headers β
POC - Point of Control VAH - Value Area High VAL - Value Area Low V - Total Volume D - Volume Delta
Footprint Header/Footer

β Footprint: No Headers vs Footprint: Headers β
V - Total Volume D - Volume Delta
Note the placement of these for Footprints are determined by the underlying delta. If the delta is positive, these values will be shown above the candle as a header. If negative, these values will be shown underneath the candle as a footer.
βοΈ Improved TPO's Volume Profile
Seasoned order flow traders often like to combine and compare how both price and volume has been distributed over a particular range of time. This has always been possible on MMT by combining the respective TPO and VPSV layers.
Whilst we refined this in a later update by adding a dedicated volume profile element within the TPO layer, this update brings more of the native configuration and controls that you'd find in the VPSV layer.

βοΈ You now have the ability to add the 'standard' view - showing separation of market buy and market sell volume. βοΈ Chose exactly where the Volume Profile should be rendered. Align Left & Align Right of TPO, in addition to an 'overlay' option. βοΈ Ability to render both TPO's and the Volume Profile's Point of Control (POC), including naked extension toggle. βοΈ Total volume values within each of the Volume Profile can be toggled.
βοΈ DOM Column Re-arrangement
Today also brings a small but important quality of life improvement for the DOM Widget. The market monkey terminal depth of market display the traditional Dom elements such as bids, asks, market buy, market sell, and volume delta.
You now have the ability to rearrange each of these respective columns to suit your preference. Simply drag each column to desired location. In future we will also add the ability to toggle each column allowing full flexibility.
